A Dynamic, Supramolecular View on the Multivalent Interaction between Influenza Virus and Host Cell

چکیده

Understanding how influenza viruses traverse the mucus and recognize host cells is critical for evaluating their zoonotic potential, prevention treatment of disease. The surface A virus covered with receptor-binding protein hemagglutinin receptor-cleaving enzyme neuraminidase, which jointly control interactions between cell. These proteins are organized in closely spaced trimers tetramers to facilitate multivalent sialic acid-terminated glycans. This review shows that individually weak allow superselective binding, virus-induced recruitment receptors, formation dynamic complexes molecular walking. Techniques measure avidity receptor specificity reviewed, pivotal role emergent properties crossing entering discussed. model proposed initiation cell entry through clustering. maintained a regime by functional balance binding cleaving.

Bacillus subtilis as a Host for Recombinant Hemagglutinin Production of the Influenza A (H5N1) Virus

Abstract Background and Aims: Influenza A(H5N1) viruses  circulating in animals might evolve and acquire the ability to spread from  human to human and thus start a pandemic. Hemagglutinin (HA) has been shown to play a major role in binding of influenza virus to its target cell and the main neutralizing antibody responses elicit against this region. Recent studies have shown that...

Influenza virus binds its host cell using multiple dynamic interactions.

Influenza virus belongs to a wide range of enveloped viruses. The major spike protein hemagglutinin binds sialic acid residues of glycoproteins and glycolipids with dissociation constants in the millimolar range [Sauter NK, et al. (1992) Biochemistry 31:9609-9621], indicating a multivalent binding mode. Here, we characterized the attachment of influenza virus to host cell receptors using three ...

Influenza virus and redox mediated cell signaling: a complex network of virus/host interaction.

Several viruses, including influenza, induce an imbalance of intracellular redox state toward pro-oxidant conditions. Through different mechanisms these alterations contribute both to influenza virus replication and to the pathogenesis of virus-induced disease. At the same time, influenza virus activates several intracellular signaling pathways involved in important physiological functions of t...

on translation of phatic communion and socio-cultural relationships between the characters of the novels

phatic communion is a cultural concept which differs across cultures. according to hofstede (2001), the u.s. tends to have individualistic culture; however, asian countries tend to have collectivistic cultures. these cultures view phatic communion differently. in individualistic cultures like u.s., phatic communion reflects speakers’ socio-cultural relationships in conversations. to see whether...
